When Grace, (her dam) was 24 years old I had been grooming her, someone came up to talk so I was leaning against her belly when I felt a kick. I had no idea Grace was pregnant. She surprised us with Jewel on April 30th, 2008 and what a gift this mare has been. She is a tall mare and has amazing foals when bred to Evan. She is one of our lead mares for trail rides. She is safe, sensible and yet very athletic. She also thinks she is in charge of the herd at Middle Grove and only defers to Lily. Mika is her half brother. Both are lifers here on the farm.
